165 000 people in Australia have chronic hepatitis B, and 30% of these are undiagnosed.

Hepatitis B is a leading cause of cancer worldwide.

A vaccine is available that can prevent new infections, but chronic hepatitis B will continue to be a major health issue in Australia for many generations.

The Victorian Hepatitis B Alliance is an independent, multidisciplinary group working to build momentum behind the Victorian response to hepatitis B.

How can families and communities support people with hepatitis B?

It is important for people with hepatitis B to have the support of their families and loved ones. People with hepatitis B have a right to privacy, which means that they can choose who they do and dont tell.
